The massive wooden airplane built by Howard Hughes, ironically nicknamed "Spruce-Goose" was the largest airplane built at the time. Unfortunately, the plane - intended to aid the allies in WWII - never saw action and was only every flown for 26 seconds in 1947 to prove it could. Made of birchwood due to metal shortages at the time, the Bremont timepiece of the same name features wooden inlays shaped like propeller blades in the caseback.
